TWO students from Glasgow have been shortlisted for a prestigious UK photography award for their ‘daring, original and innovative’ images.
David Sands and Ruby Pluhar, both students at Glasgow School of Art, will go forward to a grand final, with the winners announced on June 14.
Three students will be given a ‘once in a lifetime’ placement with a world-renowned photographer, who has not been named.
The awards, organised by EIZO, are designed to celebrate young photography and creative talent across the UK.
Hayley Osborne, marketing manager for EIZO said: “We are excited to announce the shortlist this year as the standard of entries has been incredible.
“Students across Glasgow really got stuck into the brief and we’ve seen a wealth of innovative and inspiring submissions.
We can’t wait to see who the judges pick as winners in June.”
The judges are Nick Ballón, a London-based documentary and portrait photographer, landscape photographer Catherine Hyland and Benedict Redgrove, an innovation specialist whose most recent work includes shooting a project with NASA.
