George Square plans

so Glasgow City Council is once again trying to make changes to George Square in the city centre?

This same subject and the suggestions being made are a repeat of what happened last time this matter was raised and the people then managed to prevent the awful suggestions that were made.

Yes, it would be nice if the square was kept cleaner and fitted with a free drinking pipe for those who sit in the square.

No, we do not need a statue of Nicola Sturgeon or any more statues.

The only way that the square will be made more attractive, and cleaner is for the council to ban all gatherings in the square and find another venue for their frequent events.

George Square was left to the people of Glasgow, not the council and it is the people of Glasgow who are destroying the square.

Yes, it needs to be cleaner, but it is the people of Glasgow who are responsible for the mess. Leave the square alone.

This issue was raised previously when Gordon Matheson was in charge and does not need addressed again.

Any money being spent on this issue must go to other important issues in the city.

Trump’s visit to UK

The President of the USA has just had a sumptuous banquet laid on for him, his family and dozens of hangers-on.

Apparently, the serving staff took four days to lay the table.

All of this, along with the pomp and ceremony, whilst many of our citizens

rely on food banks and others sleep on our pavements.

What a sad indictment of a supposedly modern, forward-looking society.

President protest in city

Most of those at the demo in Buchanan Street won’t have a clue what they’re protesting about. I had a good laugh at the cardboard signs. Do they really think Trump will even bat an eyelid? Course he won’t.
