A TOTAL of 18 privately run care homes in Greater Glasgow have been given low ratings by the Care Inspectorate during their most recent visits.
The Evening Times has analysed statistics released by the care watchdogs on homes given the bottom two ratings according to the six-point evaluation scale.
All of those listed below were deemed to have been weak or unsatisfactory in at least one area in their care of residents.

According to the Care Inspectorate website, an evaluation of weak, or a score of 2, will apply to "performance in which strengths can be identified but these are outweighed or compromised by significant weaknesses".
In this case, inspectors will have deemed that "the weaknesses, either individually or when added together, substantially affect peoples’ experiences or outcomes".

As a result, it is believed that without improvement as a matter of priority, the welfare or safety of people may be compromised, or their critical needs not met.
Likewise, a rating of unsatisfactory, or 1, represents "major" weaknesses in "critical aspects of performance", which would likely lead to people’s welfare or safety being compromised.
