USERS of the luxury overnight Caledonian Sleeper trains from London are being met with a five-hour bus journey to Glasgow amid “technical issues with the coaches.”
Caledonian Sleeper tweeted the news to its followers at around 5am.

The team wrote: “London to Glasgow/Edinburgh. Our apologies to guests but due to a technical issue with the coaches, this service will have to terminate at Stafford. Replacement road transport has been arranged to take guests from Stafford to Glasgow. Our team onboard can advise further.”
Customers reacted with fury after learning of the news.

One passenger wrote: “Think I’d rather get the Virgin Train than a coach! Maybe common sense does not apply at 0500.”
Another added: “Currently we are standing in the rain and the coaches are here but no drivers…”
One wrote: “Seems every night there’s some sort of problem with this service.”
“Stafford?! Whoa. That's a long drive to #Glasgow in the middle of the night when your customers should be tucked up in very expensive ‘luxury’,” was another comment.

Guests travelling onwards to Edinburgh can use connecting rail services from Glasgow, using their sleeper tickets. All guests can apply for a 100% refund through Delay Repay scheme. Our sincere apologies to all guests for tonight's service failure.
We reported in April how the overnight rail service between London and Scotland was transformed by the introduction of a £100 million fleet, with a total of 75 new carriages making their debut.
