A WOMAN had to be cut from her car after a two-vehicle crash close to a Glasgow hospital.

The Evening Times reported earlier how the incident outside Ross Hall on Crookston Road has disrupted access for patients and visitors.

BMI Ross Hall Hospital first shared an update on its Facebook page just after 9am.

A post read: “There has been an accident on Crookston Road outside the hospital. They have currently closed the road and advised it may take up to an hour before it reopens. The footpath is closed coming up from Leverndale hospital but is open for those coming from Paisley Road West.

“We understand this will cause a disruption to patients and visitors, if possible, please consider additional travel time to and from the hospital this morning.”

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said the incident was reported at around 8.30am and that one woman was being treated in hospital. She added the road reopened again soon after.

A spokesman at the Scottish Fire and Rescue service has since said the roof of a car at the scene had to be cut to free someone inside.

He added: “We were alerted at 8.32am on Wednesday, June 12 to reports of a road traffic collision between a van and car.
