Thousands of runners took to the streets of Glasgow as part of the annual Men’s 10k on Father’s Day.

The event kicked off at the Riverside Museum and continued along the riverfront into the city centre, before circling Glasgow Green and returning to George Square.

It is the 15th Glasgow run organised by the Men’s Health Forum Scotland, aiming to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

Mental health of Glaswegians declining because of 'mass surveillance'

Richard Carr (95394) came first in just 33 minutes 28 seconds, and results will be finalised next week.

One of the runners included Peter Moyes, who ran the 10k for SAMH, according to the official Men's 10k Facebook page.

Last year, he found himself victim to a violent knife attack in a bar, and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

He required emergency surgery on his neck and hands which included blood transfusions.

Peter said: "I've made a remarkable recovery physically but I've encountered some mental health issues and I'm still currently receiving treatment for PTSD, depression and anxiety.

I've made it my goal in 2019 to compete in four charity runs to show how far I have come and to raise awareness for everyone out there suffering."

His story is detailed on his
