Bedbug problem

Obviously the bedbug problem has been caused by the lifestyles of some of the pupils.

The schools have been there for over 100 years and we never had a problem. I was brought up in a slum in the Townhead in the 1940s, and my mother’s main concern was keeping us and the house clean.

The women in the building kept the close clean and went to the Steamie on a regular basis, the people around this area need to have a good look at themselves because there is something lacking in their upbringing. It is not Nicola Sturgeon who is at fault here.

Hospital praise

I WISH to thank all nursing, ancillary, cleaning staff at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, for the exceptional care I received on a recent stay at the neurology building.

Special thanks to ward 61 intensive care, ward 60 high dependencies and ward 67.

The National Health Service gets a lot of bad publicity and I just wanted to give praise for the excellent work these people do.

TV licence plea

Free TV licence should be given to all pensioners over 65, no matter their situation or eligibility.

A good majority of pensioners don’t bother much with the TV, or have the sound down low.

Shameful decision from the BBC, again.

Give them something for free a TV licence. Not much to ask?

Office development

WITH regards plans for new offices

between Carrick Street and Brown Street – it’s great news for the building trade but there are some lovely buildings that will probably fall to ruin while these things spring up.

Refurbish what we have and bring some much needed green space to the area on the derelict sites.
