Motorists are being warned to expect delays as traffic management measures are put in place because of a gas leak.
SGN, who were previously known as Scotia Gas Networks, confirmed that they will installing temporary two-way traffic lights in Cathcart Road near to its junction with Stanmore Road and Cumming Drive while they investigate the cause of the leak.
The Evening Times understands that the temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place from 1.30pm today.
Drivers travelling through Mount Florida are warned to expect delays during peak periods.
Waseem Hanif, spokesman for the gas distribution company SGN, said: "We’re working to keep local homes and businesses safe and warm by carrying out ongoing urgent repairs to our gas network in Cathcart Road, Glasgow.
"Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place in Cathcart Road, near its junction with Stanmore Road, for everyone's safety. The traffic lights will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm to help minimise disruption as much as possible.
"It's still too early to say how long our work will take to complete however, its likely to continue until the end of this week."
