THE famous “Govan suntrap” has been forced to close, it has emerged.

We reported last summer how local man John Skinner had the city chuckling after he rented out a “plastic chair and amenities” in Govan for a few lucky folks amid the good weather, for just a fiver a week.

On top of that, there was also a “warm sunshine” guarantee, with more chairs made available to keep up with high demand, stated the joke Gumtree ad.

However, one year on, it seems the suntrap has been closed.

A hilarious update on Gumtree shows an empty seat sitting out in the great weather.

The ad reads: “Due to unforeseen circumstances the Govan suntrap has now closed anyone who has made advanced bookings for the deluxe plastic chair or gymnasium/spa will get a voucher for George’s snack bar on Helen street instead, this has been due to circumstances beyond our control we hope you will understand our frustration at this sad time.”
