Scottish wrestling legend Adrian 'Lionheart' McCallum has died aged 36, it has been confirmed. 

Fans have taken to social media to share their shock at the sudden tragedy, with tributes to a "phenomenal wrestler and a brilliant guy". 

The performer starred alongside favourites such as Grado in the Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) franchise. 

In a statement on social media, the ICW wrote: "We are heartbroken to learn of the tragic death of ICW World Heavyweight Champion, Adrian ‘Lionheart’ McCallum.

"Adrian was a mainstay of ICW and British professional wrestling. Most importantly, he was our friend.

"His passing leaves a huge hole in the lives of those who knew him."

Others from the championships have written of their sadness following the news. 

Lionheart's friend and colleague Grado wrote: "Love you my brother. The Champ.

RIP Lionheart - we will never ever forget you. Thank you for everything you done for the British wrestling scene...but more importantly for being our pal."

Northern Irish wrestler Mitch Baxter added: "Both times I met him he was an absolute gentleman, and passed on so much knowledge to me in training.
