Bedbugs in school

I AGREE with William Allan’s comment in Tuesday’s Evening Times that bedbugs are coming from the home and not schools.

Showcase for pupils

Why doesn’t Glasgow City Council hold an annual showcase to show off the musical talents of the pupils from all of their primary schools as I feel that such a move would help to promote the city.

I attended a musical showcase at Hamilton Town House in South Lanarkshire where

my Grandson took part in the musical proceedings along with some of his schoolmates and every one of them was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and I think that a lot of people in Glasgow would enjoy such a treat.

Big Issue seller tribute

I WAS sad to read about the murder of Paul Kelly (Evening Times, Tuesday).

Paul was undoubtedly a fine ambassador for the Big Issue for whom he worked for many years in East Kilbride.

Paul was an ever-present ray of sunshine with a friendly smile and a pleasant word when he held the door open for all (especially the OAPs) who used the side door at Marks and Spencer in East Kilbride.

I sincerely hope the management of the Big Issue will recognise Paul’s long service and ensure this loyal servant receives a worthy funeral.

Superb winners

WELL done to all the Streets Ahead award-winners on Tuesday night.

The amount of effort they put into making their community a better place is truly inspiring.

I hope more people will follow their lead after reading their stories.
