A BODY has been found in the search for missing Scotstoun man Bryan Glencross.

We previously reported how the 40-year-old from Kingsway Court, had last been seen leaving the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Friday, May 31 at around 3.30am.

Police Scotland has said the body was found in the River Clyde on Thursday, June 20. Officers believe it is Bryan and his family has been made aware.

A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which officers are currently treating as unexplained.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

An emotional post on the Help find Bryan Glencross Facebook page, published on Thursday night, read: “We would like to thank everyone for the support given to us all over the past 3 weeks whilst Bryan was missing, unfortunately it was not the outcome we had hoped for. As a family we are devastated and have no idea how we will move on from this.  Sleeptight Bryan, you were loved so much.”

Hundreds of people have posted touching messages of sympathy to the family.

Bryan's daughter Khloe McCormick, 19, gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Monday afternoon.

The new arrival came three weeks early weighing 5.5lbs.

Bryan's mum Margaret Docherty, 60, had previously made an emotional appeal to her son.
