The Big Issue have revealed the details of the vigil planned for vendor Paul Kelly who tragically died last weekend.

The magazine editor Paul McNamee confirmed that anyone who wants to pay their respects can join the vigil outside Mr Kelly's patch in Sainbury's Buchanan Street on Monday at noon.

He said: "There will be a memorial vigil for Paul Kelly on his pitch outside Sainsbury's on Buchanan Street in Glasgow on Monday, June 24 at noon - a celebration of the life of a much loved man."

We previously reported that Mr Kelly was found with serious injuries on Hermitage Avenue in Knightswood on Saturday morning.

Emergency services attended but the 50-year-old died at the scene. Jason Cowan, 46, has appeared in court charged with Mr Kelly's murder. Glasgow man Cowan was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again at a later date.

More tributes have appeared outside his patch in Glasgow city centre in the past week - with the public wanting to pay their respects to a Glaswegian character known for his selling pitch, 'don't be shy, give it a try. I don't bite."

Mr Kelly worked for the publication for 15 years and also had pitches in East Kilbride town centre and St leondards Square.
