A city centre boozer is closing its doors for good - and inviting punters to a final party tomorrow night.

Shenanigans on Sauchiehall Street made their shock announcement on the social media website Facebook and cited no reason for the move.

The statement said: End of an era. Unfortunately, we are closing down. Sunday is our last day of trading. Join us on Saturday for one last hoorah."

The Irish themed bar was popular with revellers for their live music and late opening.

The move is another blow to Sauchiehall Street which has lost several leading retailers and other businesses in recent years following two fires including the Glasgow School of Art blaze last year.

We reported in April that Bar Budda on Sauchiehall Street was closing after five years of trading. We also reported in May that The Boyd Roderick on Pollokshaws Road in the city's South Side closed its doors.

The closure announcement shocked customers of the pub who responded in their hundreds.

One said: "Worst week of my life."

Another added: "It's bloody heartbreaking."
