The family of a 13-year-old girl who was hospitalised before a Pink concert have launched a desperate plea to the singer to send a tweet to the stricken teen.

Brave Aimeé Doig from Fife was rushed to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy on Wednesday for emergency surgery after a week of agony.

She had been in pain for days before deciding to head to A&E - and it was then that doctors discovered there was something very wrong.

After an emergency operation, Aimeé is now recovering well, but her worries were not to be over so quickly - her family had to break the news that she would not be able to attend her very first Pink concert on Saturday night.

Pink is brining her Beautiful Trauma World tour to Hampden Park again on Sunday in her only Scottish dates, and little Aimeé cannot believe she is missing out.

"She is devastated about missing the concert," mum Karen exclusively told The Evening Times. "She had been given tickets for a Christmas present from her dad and his partner.

"This would be my third time seeing Pink and Aimeé's first. Pink is an inspiration for any person, young or old."

But while the youngster is recovering, she has been confined to a hospital bed, and cannot see the US megastar.

After speaking to one of her favourite nurses, Karen decided to appeal to social media for help.

She posted a heartfelt message to Twitter in the hopes of attracting the singer's attention, and has made it her mission to get a tweet from the star.

She wrote: "My 13yr daughter Aimeè is devastated that she is missing her first ever Pink concert, this Saturday in Glasgow. She was rushed in for emergency surgery... I wish Pink could see this and send her a little tweet."

Now the spotlight has turned to Pink, after the tweet was shared almost 2,000 times since it was posted yesterday.

Devastated older brother, Gary, says they put the post on Twitter to get a message from pink to cheer Aimee up.

He told The Evening Times: "With all the retweets and people getting in contact, it's been very overwhelming, but we're so thankful to everyone trying to help.
