A YOUNG man has been rushed to hospital in Glasgow after a brutal attack left him with deep cuts on his body. 

The 17-year-old was walking on Gartloch Road near to Cumbernauld Road when a dark-coloured car pulled up behind them. 

A man then got out the car and assaulted him.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for lacerations. 

Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Detectives are now appealing for information to help find those responsible. 

Detective Constable Stewart Menzies said:  “We are still speaking to the victim of this attack to establish more information on the circumstances surrounding this incident and for more information on who is responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident take place, or who has any information that may assist our investigation into this serious assault to contact Shettleston Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 5558 of June 22.
