Ice Age: The Lost Kingdom
Rouken Glen Park, Giffnock
Today, from 10am
EUROPE’S first ever animatronic Ice Age experience arrives. Families will be transported back 70,000 years as they wander through the park and experience the sights and sounds of the Ice Age. Hang out with life-sized giant sloths, cuddle up to woolly mammoths and spot sabre-toothed tigers, among a host of other beasts, as part of the interactive event. A virtual reality experience will also be present to immerse families in the prehistoric land, making it a summer day out not to be missed. Visit iceagekingdom.com for more information and to book tickets.
Penetrator
Dram,
Tonight, 6.15pm
FLATMATES Max and Alan are nursing their hangovers when Tadge arrives on their door, just in time to upset the delicate balance of chill nothings. Tadge is acting very strange; he says the Penetrators took him to the Black Room, and that they can make him disappear as though he never existed. The Penetrators can be anyone, anywhere and the only escape is to the past, to a time when two innocent boys promised to be friends forever before everything went so horribly wrong. Anthony Neilson’s stark look at toxic masculinity is a terrifying delight; savagely compelling and darkly hilarious. Tickets by Eventbrite.
T-Rex in Town
Kelvin Hall,
Ongoing
STEP back in time to the Cretaceous period and meet Trix, the Tyrannosaurus Rex – one of the three most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex skeletons in the world. The 66-million-year-old fossil is the centrepiece of this blockbuster exhibition which also features a range of exciting interactive exhibits. Glasgow is the only UK stop on Trix’s European tour. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come face-to-face with a real T-Rex. The exhibition will end on July 31. Organisers say it’s unlikely the T-Rex will ever go on tour again. Visit kelvinhall.org.uk/trex for all the details and to buy tickets.
