CONTROVERSIAL comedian Frankie Boyle has promised Scottish dates in the autumn - and it will be filmed.

The star, 46, told his fans on Twitter yesterday that the shows will be a 'greatest hits' of his famous gags as well as new material.

In a statement, he said: "I'll be doing a bunch of Scottish dates over August/ September with a view to filming it at the end.

"It was supposed to be a greatest hits thing, but it's maybe 90 percent new since the last album.

"Strangely looking forward to it."

Boyle is known for taking up small residencies in The Stand in Glasgow's West End to test out his comedy with the audience. He, however, promised the new shows will be in theatres this time. Unfortunately for Perth, he joked he won't be visiting the city when one punter inquired about the location of the shows.

His official website has not listed the dates yet.
