A VIOLENT thug threatened to open up his girlfriend "like a can of tuna" after she spoke over music.
Steven McAteer, 28, who asked Karen Carter what knife she wanted to be stabbed with has been jailed for 27 months.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that a row broke out when she talked over the music they were listening to at his mother’s Govan house.

McAteer pleaded guilty to assaulting Miss Carter to her severe injury. She suffered a hand injury and her nose was bitten.
Defence lawyer John McLaughlin said McAteer was angry because of a comment Miss Carter made about his children from a previous relationship.

Sheriff John McCormick told McAteer: “This was a violent domestic assault to severe injury with the use of knives and the biting of the victim’s nose.
“You are fortunate that the injuries were not more severe considering the circumstances.”
