FOUR cab drivers narrowly dodged a motor after it was deliberately driven at them following an argument outside a nightclub in Partick.

A number of private hire car drivers exchanged verbals outside Sanctuary on Dumbarton Road at around 2.30am this morning.

One left the area in a grey Citroen and headed for the city centre before seemingly driving back and making a beeline for the group of cabbies.

All four managed to escape the ordeal but have been left "shaken".

Cops are desperate to find the maniac who drove the car towards the group and have urged anyone who may have information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Bernadette Walls, Drumchapel CID, said: “Although we have spoken to a number of people who were at the club at the time, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have been driving by.

"Especially if they have dash cams on their car, we want to see if they have captured the car, which had a South Lanarkshire Council licence plate, in the area at the time of the incident.

“Thankfully no one was hurt but it could have had terrible consequences if the car had hit the men, or indeed any of the clubbers or door staff who were about at the time.

“If you saw the car incident or the initial argument take place, we would ask that you call Drumchapel CID via 101 quoting reference number 0480 of the 1 July 2019. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
