A PERVERT has sexually assaulted two teenagers in broad daylight on one of Glasgow's busiest shopping streets - and cops believe there could be more victims.

The fiend first carried an attack out on one of  the teenagers, who was enjoying the start of the summer holidays, yesterday at around 3.25pm.

Police Scotland said the man they are hunting approached a 14-year-old girl first behind. He sexually assaulted her by touching her bottom in Buchanan Street near to Sauchiehall Street.

He then made off towards the Buchanan Galleries shopping centre in Buchanan Street where he struck again at around 3.50pm. He did the same to an 18-year-old woman whilst on the escalator in the busy mall, which would have been packed with people enjoy the start of the summer holidays.

The serial sex attacker is described as white and between 30 and 40 years of age. He had short dark hair and he was wearing a blue Adidas tracksuit and baggy blue or black trousers.

The force believes a third woman was targeted by the man - and are urging her to come forward.

Detective Constable Vhairi MacDonald, City Centre Police Office, said: “Although neither girl was injured, both were distressed by what happened. Whilst some people may not consider what the man did as serious, we do and we are glad both girls came forward.

“Officers are currently checking CCTV to identify the man, who we believe may have assaulted at least one other woman in the shopping centre, however, at this time she has not come forward. We would appeal to her, or anyone else who was either approached by the man or who may have seen him or who indeed, may know who he is, to contact police.”

We previously reported that street beggar James Campbell, 32, was handed a life sentence for raping a woman. He was begging on Buchanan Street prior to the attack.
