PRIDE Glasgow has announced its route and timings for the Pride march taking place next month.

The event is to be held on Saturday, August 17 and everyone in Glasgow is encouraged to register, line the streets and show support for this anniversary event.

Last year, 13,000 took part in Pride Glasgow’s march, showing solidarity and supporting the Pride movement.

This year, the march will celebrate 50 years of the Stonewall Uprising which saw a series of spontaneous demonstrations and riots by the gay community against a police raid in New York in 1969.

The Glasgow march will assemble at Clyde Place at 10.30am. Everyone should be in place for 11.15am and the march will set off at 11.30am, making its way through the streets of Glasgow.

The route from Clyde Place will then head along King George V Bridge, Oswald Street, Argyle Street, Queen Street, onto George Square, St Vincent Place, St Vincent Street, Renfield Street, Union Street, Jamaica Street, Broomielaw and enter Fast Link. 

All floats/vehicles continue on Broomielaw to McAlpine Street and disperse.
