THE retro ice-cream parlour from hit Netflix series Stranger Things has been on Buchanan Street today.

To coincide with the launch of the third series, Netflix UK recreated Scoops Ahoy as an Upside Down 1985-themed ice-cream van that kicked off a UK-wide tour in Glasgow.

Shoppers stopped to enjoy free, themed ice-cream flavours including Coke float, cherries jubilee, banana boat and July 4th.

Glasgow restaurant review: We won't forget ORO in Shawlands in a hurry

The van, complete with eerie Stranger Things melodic chimes inspired by the soundtrack, features two sides: a 1980s ice-cream parlour in pastels and a dark side straight out of the famous Upside Down world.

Fans of the show also posed for eerie photographs with the monster, complete with props.

Scoops Ahoy will go on to visit over a dozen other areas around the UK.

Stranger Things returns on Netflix today, promising a third series of supernatural monsters and charming 80s-inspired nostalgia.
