THE heartbroken family of Chelsea Bruce have paid tribute online after the Glasgow teen’s death following a house party.

We reported earlier how the schoolgirl died and two other teenagers have since been discharged from hospital after taking what is believed to be ecstasy in Springburn.

The 16-year-old fell ill in a flat on Fernbank Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 2.20am and it is understood they found the girl collapsed on the ground.

Medics tried to save her but she died shortly after arriving at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Two other teenage boys, aged 16 and 18, also fell ill. They remain in hospital and their condition is unknown.

A cousin added: “Heartbroken to be writing this and still in complete disbelief but on the early hours of Sunday morning my gorgeous cousin and my best friend forever closed her eyes for the last time and went to sleep with the angels.

“You put a smile on everyone’s faces because you were such a kind, loving and beautiful person. A massive part of my life taken away so suddenly but I’ll love and miss you forever, Chelsea. Sleep tight, princess. Forever in my heart, I am so sorry you weren’t here for longer. #smileforchels.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "At 2.30am on Sunday, July 7, police and emergency services were called to reports a 16-year-old girl had taken unwell and collapsed at a flat in Fernbank Street, Springburn.

"She was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she died a short time later.

"A post-mortem will take place in due course, to establish the cause of her death, which at the moment police are not treating as suspicious.

"Enquiries are continuing and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

"Two male youths, aged 16 and 18, were also in the flat and also felt unwell. They were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and have since been released."

A spokesman for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "The inherent dangers associated with taking illegal drugs should not be underestimated.

"No-one knows what they contain or the effects they may have on a person.

"As a result, they can have enormous consequences for both the people who take the drugs and their families.

"Anyone who does take substances and feels unwell, or knows someone who appears unwell, should attend their local Emergency Department as soon as possible.

"A description, or sample of the substance taken, would help to assist staff in starting effective treatment as soon as possible."
