THE first properties have been sold in a controversial West End development.

Jordanhill locals launched a campaign to prevent the development of the former Jordanhill College campus.

But the conversion by CALA Homes (West) went ahead and now the housebuilder said several sales have taken place at the multi-million pound development.

The homebuilder released the first phase of apartments in the Beech Collection, 29 homes across two new buildings – The Principals and The Academy.

Since launching at the end of May, nine have been secured by homebuyers, including all four of the three-bedroom penthouses on offer.

Liana Canavan, sales and marketing director at CALA Homes (West), said: “The number of reservations we’ve had at Jordanhill Park in the first month alone is hugely encouraging.

“This is our flagship development in the West of Scotland.

"It is going to be a truly special and unique spot, and it’s great to see people sharing our enthusiasm and reserving their future homes within such a prestigious area.

“We have a fantastic plot selector tool available for anyone who visits the Jordanhill Park team at Rettie & Co. which they can use to choose their ideal location within the iconic former university campus.

“We’re certain the development is only going to continue to grow in popularity, so I’d encourage anyone who’s interested in finding out more to make an appointment with the team sooner rather than later.”

In the current release available for reservation, six apartments remain in The Academy, with six available in The Principals – both of which are located on picturesque Southbrae Drive.

As well as new-build properties, CALA Homes (West) will restore the David Stow building, Douglas and Graham buildings, as well as additional former university buildings, as part of the development.
