AN Uddingston DJ will be spinning top tunes for festival revellers for a third year running at TRNSMT.

DJ Sean Claude has been asked back to the city festival in the Glasgow Green, only this time he will warm up the crowds at the Utilita Power Tree on Friday and Sunday.

Having previously played the Smirnoff Bar, the 29-year-old techno DJ can’t wait to get the party atmosphere started at TRNSMT.

He said: “The first TRNSMT I played was the first ever festival I actually worked as a DJ at. It was a totally brilliant experience.

“Last year was made even better because of the weather. It was great weather the whole weekend and the crowd had a really high energy.

“This weekend I am hoping for much more of the same.”

Sean Claude, whose real name is Sean Callaghan, became a DJ five years ago. He learned his craft by starting out small, playing at functions and parties before working his way up to nightclubs.

In 2016, he won the Coors Light DJ Quest. Today, he hosts the popular monthly radio show All Hands on Deck on Glasgow-based Groovecity Radio. Sean has also recently got into producing his own music.

And with all that experience behind him, you can bet he will be working hard to perform a set to suit all tastes of the TRNSMT crowd.

He said: “You aren’t really sure what sort of crowd you will get at TRNSMT. People will come to see performers like Stormzy and Lewis Capaldi.

“I will be playing a mix of disco, house and maybe some techno bangers thrown in.”

For festival revellers, who want to keep the party going Sean will also be performing at ROST nightclub tomorrow night. FEAR E will headline the event with sets from Stephen McCabe and Tenspot also expected.

He said: “I love playing to busy crowds, everyone is going for it and I feed off that energy.

“You dig out songs which you hope will get a good reaction when you play them and that is always a rewarding feeling.”

TRNSMT will be at the Glasgow Green this weekend with Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottleman and George Ezra headlining each night.
