SIR JACKIE Stewart told how his wife of 57 years now has almost no memories due to dementia and called for support in his drive to find a cure for the disease.
The Formula One racing legend, 80, said wife Helen was one of around 50 million people around the world with the debilitating condition.
Lady Helen was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2014, and now requires round-the-clock care support as the disease takes hold of her mind and body.

Sir Jackie, who set up the global charity Race Against Dementia (RAD) last year, said described the effect of the disease on families as "horrendous".
He said: "Money has to be put into it for research. If we don't get the money for research, frankly there won't be any improvements at all."
