A MALE thug glassed a female friend who pretended to punch him after a party, a court was told.

Paul Abercomby, 32, and Alison Brewer, 35, were at a mutual friend’s house party in March this year.

Miss Brewer invited Abercromby back to her Maryhill flat for drinks and the party went on until the early hours of the next morning.

However, it was after the pair returned from purchasing cigarettes at a local petrol station that the evening turned sour.

Prosecutor Kathleen O’Donnell told the court: “An argument took place and Miss Brewer pretended to punch Mr Abercromby.

“Mr Abercromby then struck Miss Brewer with a glass tumbler that was in his hand which caused her injuries.”

A shocked Miss Brewer asked “What the f*** have you done?” as blood poured down her face.

Miss Brewer called for an ambulance and Abercromby fled from the flat.

The Scottish Ambulance Service alerted the police who tracked down Abercromby in Bilsland Drive.

He gave a no comment police interview and was charged with the assault on Miss Brewer.
