GLASGOW and its surrounding areas are braced for heavy rail with a chance of hail and thunder.
The heaviest of the rain with be over the Lanarkshire area, said the Met Office.
The national weather providers also added that the city can expect spells of sunshine at times throughout the day too, with a maximum temperature of 19°C to be expected.

This evening, heavy showers will gradually become lighter and more confined, with remaining areas becoming dry with some clear spells tonight and a minimum temperature of around 9°C.

Friday will see a bright start with some sunshine and a few showers. It will then become cloudy with more persistent rain spreading from south in the afternoon, some heavy. Friday will feel warm with a top temperature of 20°C.
