Laura Bamber, The Ivy Collection’s Operations Director, above, said: “We have been wanting to open in Glasgow for a really long time, it has just been a case of us finding the right site.

“We opened our Ivy on the Square in Edinburgh in September 2017, and that has been super successful.

“There is obviously an amazing food and drink scene here so it is exciting for us to be a part of it.

“Finding this location on Buchanan Street has meant we now have a site that enables us to have a two-floor operation with a private dining room and al fresco dining outside. It is the perfect location right in the heart of the shopping district in between both train stations.”

Entering The Ivy is a complete visual experience. Marble floors polished to perfection run throughout while the decor is filled with carefully curated pieces. A bar that lights up bright red is a real highlight and will no doubt be a top drinking spot for those hitting the clubs at the weekend.

A total of 112 staff will keep the Glasgow operation running smoothly learning trademark Ivy skills such as napkin folding.

But all eyes will be on the reservation list and who might just show up with the original London restaurant attracting everyone from Top Gun actor Tom Cruise to supermodel Kate Moss, above.

Laura said: “Our original Ivy is down on West Street in London in the heart of the theatre district so that restaurant has always been very synonymous with the local celebrities and had a very large celebrity clientele.”

The Ivy never reveal their famous clientele but they are confident one dish will gain its own notoriety and have the city talking.

Laura, above, joked: “I guarantee your Instagram feed will be filled with our Chocolate bomb.”
