COPS are hunting for a serial fire-starter in Dumbarton who set alight a car and two businesses.

Detectives investigating the fires, which they have linked, said a Fiat Doblo van was first targeted when it was set alight while parked on Overburn Road, Dumbarton outside Brock Bowling Club at around 8.55pm on Sunday, July 14.

The fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and the vehicle was removed to undergo forensic examination.

Around the same time that evening a fire was set in Jewsons Builders Yard on Overburn Avenue, causing damage to stock. The fire was extinguished and no one was injured.
