Rally Roon the Rangers got off to a fantastic start after the show’s first performance on Wednesday night.

As the doors opened on Renfield Street’s recently re-opened Pavilion Theatre, Rangers fans lined the street to take their seats for the show.

‘Rally Roon the Rangers’ sees eight die hard true blues gather for a night of booze, banter and Rangers songs. They are plunged into a desperate bid to save The Wee Rangers Supporters Club from demolition by the council. When all seems lost, an Ibrox disaster survivor arrives and points out the traitor in the group. Can they save The Wee Beating heart of Rangers?

Grado and co are appearing in the true-blue comedy, created to reflect a reinvigorated Rangers FC and the fans pre-season excitement.

Indeed, it seems like anything is possible as the well turned-out ‘true blue’s’ donned their glad rags for a night at the theatre.

Gavin MacLean couldn’t wait to see Grado, who was the star of the show to him. “It’s all for Grado!”

Les Weir was about to go in to see the show with his wife, Marion, who are both Rangers fans – although Les says that Marion is their number one fan!

“What do you think I'm here for? Rangers. It would be nothing else. I couldn’t tell you what I'm most excited about. She’s their number one fan!”

Carolanne was with her dad, Alexander, for his 75th birthday – Carolanne had returned to the Pavillion after being there only last week.

“We’re here for my dad’s birthday. It’s going to be a great wee birthday present! And it’s a nice show to see in the theatre. I was only here last week!”

William Campbell usually travels to Aberdeen every evening but is getting the train tomorrow so he can make the opening of Rally Roon the Rangers.

“I’m here to see what it’s all about. I’m a wee bit of a fan of Grado, not really into the rest of him but Grado I like because he’s a Rangers man.”

Jamie Dornan was waiting to go into see the show with his girlfriend. “I’m here because I'm a Rangers fan. I don’t know what I'm excited to see most of... all of it”.

Many of the audience members were decked out in Rangers colours blue, white and red.

William Tinsley was waiting to go in with his wife who was clad beautifully in blue with matching blue earrings. “We’ve been blue for eight seasons” said William. “Tonight will be a great night”.

The Pavilion representatives said that the show was three-quarters sold out for tonight, but it was expected to be busy until it closes on Saturday the 3rd of August.

Rhonda Third, working on the door, said that it was her first time seeing the show of the season tonight, but she had seen it when it was on in The Pavilion previously.

“It’s always a good one. I’m a Rangers fan myself!"
