POLICE are holding a day of action in Govanhill following complaints from local residents.
An increased police patrol is underway in the area, including mounted officers, to tackle anti-social behaviour.
A Police Scotland spokesman said drugs offences will also be a focus for the operation, which will continue into the evening.
Other specialist units, including road policing, will be in the area.
Local residents are urged to approach officers with concerns.
A briefing will be held this evening in Govanhill as the night shift takes over the targeted operation.
A spokesman said: "For the duration of today, and this evening, you will note an increased police presence in and around the streets of Govanhill.
"This is planned activity, and not in response to any dynamic incident that has occurred in the area."
