STYLE AND SUBSTANCE

The Cavendish London Hotel is located in the heart of St James’s near Piccadilly. This four-star hotel is in a great position to explore everything central London has to offer, with the world famous Fortnum & Mason right on its doorstep.

SLEEPING MATTERS

The hotel has 230 rooms, including some with stunning views of the city’s skyline. All rooms are fully equipped with modern amenities including HD TV, complimentary WiFi, Nespresso coffee machine, en-suite facilities and eco-friendly bathroom products. We stayed in a superior double room, which had the added benefit of a great view of the London Eye.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

The Petrichor Restaurant & Bar offers something for everyone, from lunches and dinners to pre-theatre suppers and its renowned Duke & Duchess afternoon teas, at only £29 per person. On our first night we dined in the restaurant, I would recommend the duck breast and the ribeye steak. The express menu is great if you are in a hurry, from £19 for two courses and £24 for three courses.

WHAT TO DO

London has it all. The hotel is in a great position, ideal for first time visitors with Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Regent Street all on your doorstep. The underground is not as daunting as you think, once you master the lines it is the best way to get around the city. You can't visit London without a trip to the theatre. We went to see Wicked in the Apollo Theatre, the best show I have seen by far, but there is an abundance of shows to see. If you go to the theatre on the day you can get a good deal on tickets, plus there are ticket booths in Piccadilly Circus you can buy reduced-price tickets.

NICE TOUCH

The rooms offer a turn down service, and feature a sleep kit with eye mask, ear plugs and a lavender sleep spray for your pillows.

A double room at The Cavendish London Hotel costs from £183 per room, look out for special offers. www.thecavendish-london.co.uk
