FOUR days of fun came to a close as the Merchant City Festival reached its climax on Sunday.

Hundreds of performers took part in the event which drew crowds to the city streets.

Outdoor music events were the main feature on Saturday and Sunday and a live circus Ariel Edge taking place in Merchant Square on the closing day.

Music, theatre and dance filled the streets and venues over the four days.

Surge Theatre staged their performance of Doctor! Doctor!! The Satirical Slapstick Medical Roadshow for the audiences bringing some comedy to the festival.

Part of the streets were covered in a giant wooden stick structure for people to explore and walkthrough.

The annual festival was brought to a close by the parade of bands on the streets around the Merchant City.

Lorenzo Mele, Merchant City Festival Executive Producer, said: “There is no place quite like the Merchant City to celebrate creativity and be entertained with the unexpected, the bold and imaginative street performances.”
