ONE of Glasgow's most famous Italian restaurants has expressed interest in taking over a former West End bank.
Eusebi Deli has asked the city council for planning permission to change the use of the bank on Gibson Street into a restaurant. The plans were submitted on July 11 to convert the former United Bank, a unit that is yards from their current restaurant.
The plans ask for permission for a change of use from class two (professional and financial services) to class three (food and drink). The plans also state that Eusebi Deli wants to reinstate a glazed shopfront and install new mechanical ventilation.

Drawings accompanying the plans show the restaurant will be spread over several floors.
It is not known if Eusebi Deli will give up their current base which is yards away on the same street.
The restaurant has been in the city for 40 years and first opened in Shettleston.
The new restaurant and deli relocated to the West End in 2015 and is yards from Kelvingrove Park and the popular The Stand comedy club.
A decision is expected by September 18 and the last date comments are August 22.
