A YOUNG woman managed to break free from a man who attacked her in the early hours of the morning in Glasgow City Centre.

CCTV footage has emerged of the assault which happened at around 3.10am on Sunday, June 30 in West George Street near Buchanan Street.

Cops say the footage shows a young woman being attacked by a man.  She manages to break free and runs off. 

Officers in Stewart Street were reviewing CCTV images as part of an ongoing enquiry and identified the young woman who has been the victim of an assault.

They are now appealing for the young woman to contact them so that they can investigate the incident and arrest the person responsible.

The suspect is described as white, around 5 ft 7 inches in height, with short brown hair, blue or brown eyes with a slim build.  The man has the name ‘Clare’ tattooed on the right-hand side of his neck.  He was wearing dark coloured denims, and khaki/beige coloured jacket.

Officers continue to carry out enquiries in respect of this attack and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crime or who has any information on the suspect or the young woman to contact them.
