A THIEF who dumped a stolen cash till drawer in a garden was snared after the homeowner called the police.
Officers trawled CCTV footage and were able to link William Brown, 39, to two robberies - one at the Parkway Bar, in Paisley Road West and the other at Bellahouston Sports Centre, both Glasgow.
In the pub Brown took the cash register and also a bottle of whisky. He also stole another till from the sports centre.
He pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to two charges of robbery.
The court heard Brown entered the Parkway Bar on Paisley Road West in the early hours of the morning in March this year.
CCTV showed Brown smashing a window to gain entry and running off with the cash register.

His lawyer Pat Campbell said: “The owner said there was nothing missing other than the till and a bottle of Johnny Walker whisky from the bar’s display.”
Earlier that morning, Brown also broke into the sport centre by smashing the glass door.
The alarm triggered security to contact police, who arrived shortly after.
Prosecutor Marie McCue said: “Several chairs were kicked over and a piece of the till was lying on he ground.”
Brown was snared when a woman noticed a till drawer lying in her front garden and reported it to the police.
CCTV was used to trace both incidents back to Brown and he was arrested at his home.
Sheriff Andrew Cubie deferred sentence until next month for reports.
Brown was remanded in custody in the meantime.
