THE NHS staff at a Glasgow hospital ranked one of the best in the world received a personal "thank you" from Health Secretary Jeane Freeman.

Glasgow Royal Infirmary, which dates from 1794, was the only Scottish Hospital to make the Newsweek top 100 list, earlier this year, which included top facilities in Germany, Japan, Switzerland and the United States. The hospital was also ranked in the UK’s top 10.

Ms Freeman met NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Chairman, John Brown as well as clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, domestics and porters yesterday during a specially arranged visit.
