A COUNCIL has launched an investigation after a Glasgow schoolboy died in a church trip water sports accident.
Kayden Walker, 12, from Glasgow, is believed to have been boogie-boarding on Sunday near Stanley in Perthshire when he came into difficulty in the River Tay.
He was airlifted to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment but died in the early hours of Tuesday.
Now Perth and Kinross Council have confirmed they will lead an investigation into the youngster's death.

Police enquiries are ongoing.
It comes after we revealed yesterday that a fundraising drive had been set up for the tragic schoolboy.
More than £2,500 has been raised by well-wishers, with the money going to the youngster's family.
