Family and friends of a Scots wrestler have raised thousands in his memory almost two months after his death.

Adrian 'Lionheart' McCallum was the reigning ICW (Insane Championship Wrestling) world heavyweight champion, but was found dead at the age of 36 in June.

Now, those who attended his funeral and fans of the wrestler have raised £2,000 in his name - and donated them to a local mental health group.

Release Ayrshire is an online support page on Facebook which offers people struggling an instant response chatting service.

They look to continually raise awareness to reduce the stigma of mental health.

His parents donated the cash, which was banded together from both funeral donations and funds raised from an event organised by Ross Watson at Premier British Wrestling.

On their Facebook page, they wrote: "Adrian himself was a supporter of reducing the stigma around mental health and also took part in various ways to help intervene.

"We cannot thank you enough for this donation, especially at such a difficult time.

"We promise that it will be put to good use to help erase the stigma around men's mental health and to help as many people as we can in Adrian's honour."
