Ex-Celtic captain Jackie McNamara and teammate Simon Donnelly look set to link up as partners again - but not in a footballing sense this time round.

The pair have announced on social media that they are opening a PUB together in Spain.

Their sports bar will launch in a few short weeks in Fuengirola - dubbed Don McNamaras.

The two Celtic legends played together on the pitch before linking up as a management duo when McNamara took over at Partick Thistle in 2010.

Donnelly followed McNamara when he then moved to Dundee United three years later before the pair switched to York City.

But now a different venture has presented itself and Donnelly confirmed the news on his Twitter.

He said: "My great friend Jackie McNamara and myself are delighted to announce, coming soon to holiday resort Fuengirola our very own sports bar and restaurant.

"A lot of planning but we’re just a few short weeks from welcoming friends and clients alike.

"Keep watching for opening".

Another former teammate of the pair, Stiliyan Petrov, said: "Good luck boys, I will definitely visit.

"I hope you guys have something Bulgarian on the menu".

A third said: "Fantastic. Best of luck in your new venture".
