A 'frail old man' who was left in a critical condition following a Priesthill murder bid is believed to have been stabbed twice in the head according to a family member.
The pensioner, 76, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after using an emergency buzzer to alert police.
The Priesthill man, who has reportedly lived at the address Elliston Avenue for more than 20 years, is said to be unsteady on his feet and moved with a walking prior to the weapon attack.
Today, his grandson Chris Stewart took to Twitter to urge witnesses to come forward.
In a tweet, he said: "My 76-year-old Grampa was attacked and stabbed twice in the head last night on his own doorstep.
"If anyone’s seen or heard anything round Priesthill or Pollok please let me know cheers."

Police Scotland could only confirm that the man had head injuries. Neighbours, however, said he was taken away from his home by paramedics with his head bandaged.
They described him as a “lovely old man” who was “defenceless” to Tuesday evening’s attack.
His next door neighbour, 63-year-old Janie Gardiner, said she couldn’t believe someone would “stoop so low”.
She added: “I never heard a thing. These house are really soundproof right enough.
“He’s very unsteady on his feet, and doesn’t keep well at all. He had a really bad before and has been in at the hospital a lot.
“He doesn’t bother anybody and we didn’t have a clue anything had happened, we normally keep an eye out for him. Must have been really quick, there was no commotion.
“His wife died a good few years ago. It’s absolutely disgusting that someone would do that to a frail old man, he walks with a stick and has had operations.
“You can’t even be safe in your own house. He’s a lovely old man, I don’t understand it.”

Others who live close to the man also said they hadn’t heard anything, with the 76-year-old reportedly alerting police of the murder bid with his own emergency buzzer alarm.
His neighbours claim they help look after him, helping him into his home and regularly checking up on him.
Those living next to him also said police assured them he was in a stable condition when visited on Tuesday evening, initially assuming he had “had a fall”.
Forensic officers have been spotted at the house and surrounding properties investigating the incident.
Police in Govan have confirmed they are treating the attack as attempted murder, and are searching for a young woman, aged 16-20 years old, in connection with the incident.
