Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn watched Celtic draw 1-1 in their Champions League qualifier against CFR Cluj this evening after being invited to the game by travelling supporters.
Fans of the Glasgow club met the politician as they sat on the flight to Romania.
Taking to social media, Mr Corbyn explained the unusual turn of events where he agreed to take in the match after being asked along by the Scots.
On a plane to Romania today I bumped into @CelticFC fans who invited me to join them watch their team play @CFR_1907_Cluj. So I did.@Oedouard22 impressed along with Celtic's discipline and determination.

And he revealed the player who impressed him most from the first-leg.

The post garnered more than 2,400 likes in less than two hours after it was posted.
And Celtic fans were quick to welcome Corbyn as an honourary supporter.
Neil Lennon's men drew 1-1 thanks to a first-half equaliser from James Forrest after Mario Rondon had opened the scoring for the hosts.
