DESPERATE ScotRail staff are working to clear the rail tracks which have been flooded in Linlithgow affecting central services.
The rail service confirmed this morning that the area affected is between Linlithgow and Edinburgh, with staff onsite using pumps to try to clear at least two feet of water. It comes after heavy rainfall yesterday which caused flash floods.
The issue is affecting train services from Glasgow. In a series of tweets, ScotRail has outlined which services are affected.

Customers can travel on services between Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and Edinburgh via Airdrie, and Glasgow Central to Edinburgh via Shotts but journeys may be longer. pic.twitter.com/Z6zaOGrPW0
The advice from ScotRai, however, is to make alternative travel arrangements as the firm said they don't have a time scale as to when the line will reopen and services will return to normal.
UPDATE: Due to the limited replacement transport we're advising customers to make alternative travel arrangements where possible.
