Tributes have been paid to a missing Glasgow teenager after a body was discovered following a more than two-week search. 

Officers looking for Rhys Bonner, 19, found a body in marsh ground between Easterhouse and Gartloch Village which is yet to be formally identified. 

The family of Mr Bonner have been informed of the tragic news, with the death being treated as unexplained by cops.

Friends of the teenager have taken to social media to share their heartache at the news, which was revealed on Thursday night. 

A statement written on behalf of the family, and posted by Amanda Parsons, reads: "

"They want to thank everyone for there help and support over these past 15 days on the search for Rhys!

"Unfortunately they didn’t get the outcome we were all praying for but from the bottom of there hearts they will be forever grateful to you all."

Earlier this week Rhys' mother Stephanie posted an emotional appeal to Rhys. 

In the social media post she wrote: "My heart is broken, the whole family are heartbroken. 

"My four kids are very very upset and they're missing their brother like mad and just wanting their brother home."
