Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish believes Scottish football could be in line for a marquee signing this summer.

The English transfer window has already closed, giving Scottish clubs a bit of freedom to take their time to get the right deal without so-called 'bigger clubs' sniffing around the same players.

Dalglish, 68, has now urged fans of his former side and Rangers to remain patient with their teams if they want to make the right additions to their squads.

And he hasn't ruled out either of the big two - or anyone else for that matter - surprising everyone by landing a big name player to their ranks before the deadline.

Writing in his Sunday Post column, Dalglish said: "The window in Scotland is open for business until September 2.

"So there will be comings and goings right up until the last minute.

"In fact, you could never rule out a real coup happening for one of the clubs - a signing right out of nowhere that really whets the appetite."
