RECKLESS kids have been warned they could face criminal charges by playing on the roofs of schools in Glasgow's South Side.

St Marnock Primary School in Pollok and others in the area have been trespassed by youths who have been playing on their roofs in recent weeks.

MP Chris Stephens raised concerns from residents with Police Scotland who promised extra patrols in the area.

He said: "After receiving numerous reports of children playing on the roofs of local primary schools, including St Marnocks, I raised this matter with Police Scotland.

"I have now received confirmation that Police Scotland will be increasing patrols around schools.

"Climbing on school roofs is extremely dangerous and those caught will be policed robustly and could end up with criminal charges."
