The family of a man who died of serious injuries in a Motherwell flat have said they are living in a nightmare.

Terry Smith was found within a flat in Doonside Tower on Tuesday morning at around 4.30am.

Emergency services battled to save the 30-year-old, but he tragically died of his injuries at the scene.

Mr Smith's family have now paid tribute just days after his death, and say they want justice.

"We feel like we are living in a nightmare that we can't wake up from," the family admitted. "Terry was a loving son, brother, dad, fiancé, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend.

"We would like to thank family and friends for their overwhelming support.

Police Scotland have thanked members of the public who have come forward with information, and urge others to come forward.
