A THUG who stabbed a man in the neck with a pair of scissors is behind bars.

Paul Harvey attacked Patrick Curley during a party at a flat in Glasgow's Barmulloch in March 2018.

Police later traced him to a house in the nearby Blackhill area of the city.

Officers went on to find powder of the drug Etizolam – known as fake Valium.

Prosecutor Blair Speed told the High Court in Glasgow that the amount of substance discovered could potentially make over one million pills of the drug.

Harvey denied being involved in the attack and claimed he had “left the party”.

He protested: “It is not true.”

But, he now faces a lengthy jail-term after he pled guilty to assaulting Mr Curley to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.

Harvey, of Blackhill, also admitted being concerned in the supply of Etizolam.

The hearing was told Mr Curley's life was at threat had he not received medical treatment.

Lord Woolman remanded Harvey in custody pending sentencing on September 20 in Edinburgh.
